About me
Since leaving art college in 1984, I have continued to explore my painting. I am fortunate enough to have a studio and an artist husband, Kevin (who I met at college).
I love painting portraits, especially faces surrounded by red hair. One of these portraits is in Saatchi Art, with the title “Red and Blue”. I have worked with a particular model who has the attribute of red hair for a number of years.
In September 2010, I was shortlisted for the 242nd yearly Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, which was titled “Raw”.
During Covid I had three paintings in an online exhibition called “A World Without end”.
In September 2023, I exhibited with an all-women group of artists for “Beautiful”, celebrating ‘Womanhood and Artistic Resilience’ at Waterloo Station, curated by Shizico Yi of ‘No Barking Art’.
There are many paintings behind my final image and I always find it fascinating to see how the painting seems to evolve on its own, becoming stronger until there is no more to give on my part.
